I have never been interested in clay but once I found these molds and found that they are so easy to use. I take the clay and soften it in my hands. Once soft you simply push the clay into the molds and then pop it out. I place them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and bake them per the manufactures directions. I apply gloss glaze to them once they have cooled off and VIOLA! These are great to use on scrapbook pages and cards and you can add them to the end of a bobby pin to customize any outfit. They are so cute and easy that I can't stop making them. I have made so many that I'm thinking of opening an Etsy shop. That is going to take more thought on my end to make sure it's really something that I want to do and will have some pay off. ( I don't need to end up with a ton of clay bobbles) Well we shall see. So for now here are the latest flowers that I have made.

Enjoy.

Debora

What to do with Hat Pin?...... Yesterday I posted the hat pins I made. I spent an entire day in my craft area. No not creating hat pins. I created alot of crafts but the hat pins were just some of them. I thought I would wear the hat pins in my pony tail. I know I just called them hat pins and then told you that I was going to wear them in my hair. I added them to the top of my pony tail and they were cute but I just wasn't feeling them. I got this plain black hat for Christmas and I REALLY like it. I did say that hat was plain black right. Well I just couldn't have that so I added 3 pins to the band of the hat. A little glue and viola! Now it's cute. But you could see where I added the glue. ( I was not exactly precise when I added the glue) It needs a flower. Flowers make everything prettier. I had bought the Tim Holtz Tattered florals die and have not used it yet. I know right what am I waiting for. I took some fabric scraps I had and cut out 2 large, and 2 medium flowers. I took the ends of the flower to a candle and it gave it a rustic look. Glue this to the band on top of where I put the pins. Now my hat has a little bit of fashion. I TOTALLY LOVE IT.

Enjoy
Debora

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://dollydoodledesigns.blogspot.com/2012/01/what-to-do-with-hat-pin-why-put-them-on.html' title='What to do with Hat Pin?...... Last night instead of going out I stayed in with my family and crocheted a washcloth. I was really proud of myself since I can't really say I know what I'm doing. So now that my son is getting older and can play by himself more I hope to be able to keep posting here. It's fun and I really enjoy making crafts and since I don't really do anything with them I can post them here and share what I have learned. So today I am showing the new Hair pins I'm currently making. I found a hat pin tutorial on you tube and I kind of adapted it to my needs. I tried putting thme in my pony tail and found that it looks really cute. I have fairly short hair so my ponytail is not that long so the pins add a little bit of interest. I hope you enjoy.

Polymer Clay

I have found a new craft to try out. While searching the internet I came across Mold Muse. These are flexible clay molds. I have never worked with clay as I am not great a sculpting things. But These molds make it easier to be creative. I ordered the molds on Etsy and waited so patiently. Well maybe not so patiently. I couldn't wait to get them. The molds arrive even earlier then what they said they would. They came in this cute little bag all tied with a ribbon. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleased with them. I used 2 different kinds of clay. Fimo which I don't really care for. It takes a lot of kneading to get it soft. I also used Sculpey Bake Shop. This one I like as it is easy to work with but the color was a little lighter then I was expecting. Baked at 275 degrees for 15 minutes and they were done. Let them cool and they were hard. I painted several of them with a shimmer paint. The jury is still out on that one. I like it but I think I have to get the right amount. They i used Goop Craft glue and glued two of the roses to a set of bobby pins I had. I think they turned out great. I can't wait to get more molds and clay. This craft gets two thumbs up from me.

Have an AWESOME day.
Debora

SteamPunk

<img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dbJ-FrxDJ_M/TjtGgJdnYsI/AAAAAAAAAEY/caNLlPQsNBo/s320/003.JPG" t$="true" width="320" />

<img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RxUu7OX_Des/TjtGjD61tuI/AAAAAAAAAEc/MEn76hCIl8c/s320/004.JPG" t$="true" width="240" />

<img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fWPI-u3TXw4/TjtGmiqB2uI/AAAAAAAAAEg/RDRhIiyafP0/s320/005.JPG" t$="true" width="240" />

I have not been very good at this blog thing lately. My busy life has caught up with me and I'm still trying to get out from under it all. I think I can do it. I also have to train my mind to stay on one task until it's done. That's easier said then done. Adult ADD is terrible. I have so many projects going at once I don't know which one to finish first. I have found a new obsession and it really has taken over my craft room (and a little bit of the kitchen table) and my lief. I spend a ton of time on google looking it up and getting some new ideas. I have found myself attracted to Steampunk. I know everyone I tell is like "what". Steampunk. Google it. It's very interesting and I have found that I like to create Steampunk hats. That is what's taking up most of my craft area right now. Now I have to remodel my area so that I have more room and buy more storage containers. Anyways. Steampunk hats are so fun to create. Right now I'm just buying the top hats and adding my touch to them, but I would love to learn how to make a top hat from scratch. I have also made some small ones and have also created some facinators. I don't know if they will catch on in the states but man are they popular in the UK. Anyways I have a hat I'm in the process of finishing. So let me show you that one and then I will show you the one I have started for my daughter. New camera so the lighting isn't the greatest Another thing I need to add to my to do list. Learn how to work my camera. I hope you like the hat as much as I do. Thanks for stopping, come back soon.

Western Star

I have deceided to change the decor in my frontroom and kitchen. I let them dry real good and then I cut the top and bottom off. I then used the Stampin Up die 5 point star. I cut out 5 of those and then used Adirondack alcohol ink in Rust. I put a ton of little dots all over the stars and then just dabbed it with a sponge. I applied several layers after letting each layer dry. Then I used the heat tool to dry it completly. Rescored (is that a word) all my score lines. I took a gold button that I had in my stash. It was nice but not really the color I was looking for so I put Versamark on it an covered it in gold embossing powder. I hot glued the button to the center and I was done. I like how it turned out but I do see some errors that I made that I will change on my next one. Yes I will be making some more.

Little Purse

Ok so I was having trouble with the picture uploading but I finally got it. Partly because I've been just plain busy, partly because I really don't think any body is ready this other than me. But I have been trying to make time to get this going. So I just recently started making some flowers. I made some glimmer mist and used them on some paper flowers I had. I took a couple of mister bottles and filled them half way with warm water, then add a couple of drops of glue. Shake, then add some folk Art Metallic paint and shake some more. Spray the flowers until the color is consistant and is the depth that you want. I then took some Stampin' Up! Frost White Shimmer paint and added it to alcohol in a mister bottle. I sprayed the flowers with the paint and let them dry. I LOVE the way they turned out. Now to find the perfect place to showcase them. I hope this is the first in many post's to come. Just excuse the paper towel they are still wet.

Debora

Comming Back

I have been away for sometime now. Of course I have a window. I have several, But I can tell you the view out of it is nothing like the view on this card. While visiting my mon several weeks ago I came across this little stamp store. The owner was unpacking some new stamp stuff. OOOOOHHHH how I love new stamp stuff. So I just had to have (at least that is what I tell my husband) a pack of these new Flowersoft card fronts. They are 3-D. Just cut them out, according to thier number and layer with pop up dot's or whatever 3-d type tape you have. Apply the glue to the spots you want the Flowersoft to stick to and there you go. My mom saw these and thought it would be nice to send one to my grandma who lives alone in rural MI. I did send one but what my mom doesn't know is that she is getting one as well when I send her her mother's day package.

Enjoy!
Debora

Fleece Pins

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Z0UKYS3jrk8/S9I3nJd5AcI/AAAAAAAAACo/ECBo9_6jR-M/s320/008.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463490443649548738" />
I have seen these pins around and I wanted to give them a try. My head is spinning. I took my son to see my mom on his Spring break. I only have 2 weeks of class left and I'm trying to catch up on homework so that I can submit it all by May 7th. My sister volunteered my for a craft fair so I have been busy getting things done for that. I also deceided that my house needed a GOOD cleaning so that has been keeping me busy as well. I do have a new project to show you and as soon as I can get the picture uploaded to my site I will show you. She lives 3 hours away and I don't get to see her very often. So I will be sending her this to let her know that I think about her. I send handmade cards to alot of people but my mom is about the only one that makes comments and really expects get them in the mail.

The cardstock again is just some that I had laying around. The large flower was made using a 1 1/2" wide strip of paper and krimped. I then just attached it to a circle covered in sticky strip. attached a random button and there you have it a flower. The stem and leaves is cut from the Sizzix die Bird with Vine and covered with glitter. ( I do love glitter don't you?) The thinking of you is from the Trendy Trees set from Stampin' UP! and the tag is from the match box die also from Stampin' UP!

Easter Cards

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Z0UKYS3jrk8/S7I0yFR8OCI/AAAAAAAAACY/SmTFJN1uLdw/s320/063.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5454480133714622498" />
Two cute little Easter cards I plan to send to my niece's and nephew. I also used the scallop circle punch from Stampin Up. The paper I used is just some extra cardstock I had lying around. I don't remember who the paper is from but I used the Flower, Daisies #2 from Stampin' Up! and the saying is from Whimsical Words also from Stampin' Up!. I also used the lace eyelet punch from Stampin' Up!. It was a birthday gift from my sister in law. I had seen these at a craft fair and commented on how pretty they look. Low and behold one showed up at my birthday 3 months later. I love these. I am going to start rummaging through the glass aisles at the local thrift stores to make some of my own or to give away. I think they are such a neat and unique item. It has a pair of glass candle sticks glued to 3 matching plates. I can't wait to use it on my dinner table at Easter time. Maybe I should have a tea party just so I can pull it out of hiding.

In need of some spring

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Z0UKYS3jrk8/S40jTUxxHYI/AAAAAAAAAAw/CBReAW5uG6M/s320/002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444046339462733186" />
I'm in need of some spring and color around here. Snow still on the gound and still cold outside. The inside of the house is the only place with some color right now. I made this topiary to add a little spring time color. It's a styrofoam ball about 4". I used the 5 petal punch from STAMPIN' UP!. The paper is misc paper I had laying around. The center is punched using computer paper and the Boho flower punch from STAMPIN' UP! I used small pins and stuck them all over. The "stem" is an old paint brush I had. Just took the brush part off and stuck it in the bottom. I painted the pot pink with some craft paint and crinkled and cut up strips of pink paper. It was a little time consuming since I had to make sure all the flowers were dispersed properly according to color. Just my little bad habit. It's really cute and looks nice sitting in the middle of the coffee table.

Welcome

This is my first attempt at blogging so please bare with me.
